Bellevue LifeSpring’s 2019 Step Up to the Plate Benefit Luncheon to Feature Bellevue’s Superintendent

The 2019 Step Up to the Plate Benefit Luncheon is now open for registration. The annual luncheon benefits Bellevue LifeSpring and is held at Meydenbauer Center in downtown Bellevue.

The benefit luncheon is taking place on March 19th and is set to feature Dr. Ivan Duran as the guest speaker, the superintendent for Bellevue School District. Duran became the superintendent in July 2017. He was previously deputy superintendent of the Dallas Independent School District in Texas, and before that, served as assistant superintendent for elementary education for Denver Public Schools in Colorado. Dr. Ivan holds a doctorate in Education Leadership and Policy Study from the University of Denver, a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Colorado, and a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. The emcee for the event is Mimi Jung, co-anchor for KING 5 Mornings. Before joining KING in 2000, she was a reporter and anchor in Las Vegas and New York.

From 11:00 a.m. to noon, guests can shop the pop-up Thrift Culture while enjoying wine. The lunch and program will be held from noon to 1:15 p.m. There is no cost to attend the luncheon. All donations will support Bellevue LifeSpring programs that feed, clothe, educate and provide emergency assistance.
