Construction has begun on Bellevue Downtown Park’s Northeast Gateway, a new pedestrian entrance. The majority of the park is open except for the Northeast area. According to Bellevue Parks & Community Services, visitors should anticipate some period closures of the east pedestrian entry.
The project is 1.77 acres, in comparison to the entire Bellevue Park, which totals 17.8 acres.
We reported in September 2019 that the new pedestrian gateway plaza will include new lighting, a water feature, public art, improvements to the landscape and infrastructure, and a more formal connection to the downtown core.
The park’s Northeast Gateway is excepted to reach completion in early 2021.
