According to the Bellevue Police blog, detectives have now referred 70 looting suspects to the King County Prosecutor’s office for charges in connection with the May 31st riots. Bellevue Police detectives continue to look through videos and follow up on leads.

Police Chief Steve Mylett warned, “We want to send a very clear message to anyone thinking about committing crimes in Bellevue… If you commit violence or destruction in Bellevue, we will follow the evidence, find you, and arrest you.”

The majority of suspects that are being investigated are potentially being charged with burglary, possession of stolen property, and malicious mischief. Two of the 70 suspects are known to be from Bellevue.

The Bellevue Police still need help identifying suspects. Please see the link and if you recognize any of the suspects, please call Bellevue Police at 425-577-5656.

  1. Appreciate the update, and while I’m grateful that Bellevue is aggressive about finding and referring these suspects for prosecution, KC Prosecutor Dan Satterberg does not appear to be acting.

Of the first 46 arrestees from May 31 looting, only one is being prosecuted for far, on a weapons charge.

If there are few to no consequences for rioting, why stop?
