New Opportunities Accessible to All at KidsQuest Museum this Summer & Fall

KidsQuest Children's Museum Bellevue

Amazon and KidsQuest Children’s Museum have joined hands to bring children and families a wave of playful learning opportunities and experiences. The collaboration aims to promote healthy social, emotional, and cognitive development among children and foster a vibrant, connected community.

Research has consistently shown that play is a crucial aspect of a child’s growth and development. It not only aids in enhancing cognitive skills but also plays a vital role in the emotional and social well-being of young minds. Recognizing the significance of play, both Amazon and KidsQuest are committed to providing accessible opportunities for children to learn through the power of play and exploration.

KidsQuest Children’s Museum, nestled in Downtown Bellevue, has long advocated STEAM-based interactive exhibits, educational classes, workshops, and outreach programs. By connecting children to their communities and the world around them, KidsQuest instills in young minds a sense of curiosity, creativity, and discovery, thereby nurturing future problem-solvers.

Keri Pravitz, Manager of Community Engagement for Amazon, expressed the company’s commitment to investing in the communities where its employees reside. She emphasized the crucial role KidsQuest plays in the lives of children in the Bellevue community. Amazon views the partnership as an opportunity to expand the spectrum of experiences available to families in the area.

The collaboration between Amazon and KidsQuest brings forth an exciting lineup of new offerings for the upcoming summer and fall seasons. Some of the highlights include:

1. Free Thursday Nights in August: Throughout the month of August, every Thursday from 4 pm to 8 pm, KidsQuest opens its doors for FREE to guests (advanced registration required). This initiative allows families to partake in the Museum’s playful learning environment without any financial barriers.

2. Back to School “Happy Hours”: From September 12 to 28, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 pm to 5 pm, KidsQuest presents a unique twist on the traditional “Happy Hour” concept. Visitors can enjoy half-priced admission, STEAM programming (such as Tool Time and Engineering Hour), and kid-friendly snacks and beverages during these hours.

3. Low Sensory Morning: On Sunday, September 17, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, KidsQuest hosts a special event tailored for children and adults with special needs. The Museum will limit capacity, reduce ambient noise, and dim the lighting to provide a comfortable and inclusive space for play.

It is essential to note that advanced registration is mandatory for all events and capacity restrictions apply. For further information and ticketing details, interested parties can visit the official website at KidsQuestMuseum.org.

Apart from the seasonal offerings, Amazon extends support to KidsQuest’s year-round community access initiative. This initiative encompasses robust outreach programming and discounted admission to the Museum, making these hands-on, playful educational experiences accessible to all children in the Puget Sound region.

The collaboration between Amazon and KidsQuest actively aims to eliminate barriers and ensure that every child, regardless of background, can benefit from these innovative learning experiences.
