A new coffee shop is now open on the ground level of the Watermark Bellevue building. The retirement community spans over 132,000 square feet with 110 assisted living apartments and 26 memory care apartments.
North of Main acts as a traditional coffee shop from 7-11 a.m., serving coffee from Z Street Coffee and pastries baked in-house by the community’s culinary team. Z Street Coffee is a small-batch roaster from nearby Auburn, Washington known for creating balanced, smooth, and delicious coffee.
After 11 a.m., North of Main transforms into the leasing gallery for The Watermark at Bellevue’s Independent Living building. There, prospective residents can learn more about the community’s amenities and lifestyle, meet with potential neighbors, and view the apartments’ fixtures and finishes.
“We’re delighted to not only expand The Watermark at Bellevue with our Independent Living building but also to create more opportunities for Bellevue seniors to engage with neighbors of all ages,” said Shawn Jervis, campus executive director of The Watermark at Bellevue. “And what better way for these relationships to blossom than over delicious coffee and pastries at North of Main?”
Previously known as Holden of Bellevue, construction began in February 2020 at 121 112th Avenue Northeast. The residence was designed to offer urban surroundings and modern hospitality amenities to those living there, including a range of culinary experiences, yoga studios, family gathering spaces, and nearby restaurants, boutiques, art galleries, and museums.
Cafe Cesura had previously occupied this space, lasting for two years before closing its doors. They had offered Stumptown coffee, sandwiches, and pastries. The Watermark at Bellevue has since taken ownership of the coffee shop.
North of Main is open to anyone looking to grab a good cup of coffee accompanied by a pastry. The uniqueness of the coffee shop is that it will be situated within the upscale retirement community.
