The City of Bellevue is excited to announce the launch of Adopt-A-Street, a new initiative under the Keep Bellevue Beautiful program. This community-driven effort aims to maintain Bellevue as a safe and clean city where residents can live, work, and play with pride.

Adopt-A-Street invites individuals, families, businesses, and community groups to actively participate in keeping Bellevue’s streets free from litter. Volunteers can use an interactive map on the Adopt-A-Street webpage to select a location and length of street to adopt. By committing to their chosen street, participants agree to pick up litter at least four times a year for a minimum of two years.

To support these volunteers, the city provides safety vests, gloves, trash bags, and litter grabbers. The specially marked Keep Bellevue Beautiful Adopt-A-Street trash bags will be collected free of charge by Republic Services through regular residential collection or at designated dumpsters.

In the past year alone, more than 500 community volunteers have removed nearly 300 bags of litter from city streets during Keep Bellevue Beautiful cleanups. The Adopt-A-Street program builds on this success by offering an easy and impactful way for everyone to contribute to a cleaner and healthier community.

By participating, volunteers can help prevent trash from entering local waterways, protect wildlife, and ensure Bellevue streets remain safe and clean. This initiative fosters a sense of community and environmental stewardship.

For more information and to sign up, visit the Adopt-A-Street page on the City of Bellevue website.
