The Bellevue Jazz & Blues Music Series is set to return from October 2 to 6, 2024, bringing together a lineup of national and regional talent for a series of live performances across Downtown Bellevue. Organized by the Bellevue Downtown Association (BDA), this event has been a staple since it first began in 2008.

This year’s series will feature 20 live performances at various venues in Bellevue. Artists from around the country, as well as talented regional musicians, will entertain during the five-day event. The Bellevue Jazz & Blues Music Series is known for its collaboration with John Gilbreath, executive director of Earshot Jazz, to bring in top headlining artists.

The 2024 lineup features artists like the Joel Astley Band, featuring Johnny Burgin, who will be performing at the Meydenbauer Center Theatre. Joel Astley, an up-and-coming blues artist, is known for his blend of original music that incorporates swing, roots rock, jazz, and blues. Since forming his first band in 2014, Astley has won 23 Blues Music Awards from the Washington Blues Society.

Another featured artist is Greta Matassa & Friends, also performing at the Meydenbauer Center Theatre. Matassa, who has been voted Northwest Jazz Vocalist of the Year nine times and inducted into the Jazz Hall of Fame, is known for her engaging performances and has been featured in many of the area’s top jazz clubs and concert venues.

Some of the scheduled performers and their locations include:

  • Eugenie Jones at The Bellitini
  • Tom Kellock at El Gaucho Bellevue
  • Eli Meisner at Paddy Coyne’s Irish Pub
  • Peter Caruso at Lincoln Square South
  • Brian James Bang at Bake’s Place
  • Greta Matassa & Friends at Meydenbauer Center Theatre

On Sunday, October 6, the Bellevue Arts Museum will host performances from several school jazz ensembles. Participating schools include Eckstein Middle School, Todd Beamer High, Ingraham High School, Bellevue High School, Mountlake Terrace High School, and Newport High School.
