The City of Bellevue is currently reviewing new development plans submitted by Pokémon Company International for its upcoming leased office space, under the project name of “Tetris”, featuring a small museum, dining, and amenities. This development is part of a larger project known as The Eight, which includes a 25-story office tower located at 1066 Northeast 8th Street.
The office tower encompasses approximately 540,000 square feet of commercial space, with 374,046 square feet designated for Pokémon’s operations. The company secured a 16-year lease with options for two five-year renewals, marking this as the largest office lease in Pokémon’s history, as reported in January 2024 by Skanska. The tower also provides 152,309 square feet for parking, which together constitute 72% of the overall space.
In addition to Pokémon’s office, the development includes 10,000 square feet of retail space, featuring a standalone pavilion designed to engage the local community. This space will support retail and dining options.
The tower includes about 13,668 square feet of ground-floor retail and restaurant space across its 1.76-acre site. It features five levels of underground parking, accommodating approximately 56 active-use stalls, along with bike parking and electric car charging stations.
Construction of The Eight is being managed by Skanska, a global leader in project development and construction. The design of the tower aims to maximize open space and natural light, with pedestrian entrances on both the north and south sides. Public outdoor plaza space measures 7,700 square feet, providing a welcoming area for visitors and residents alike.
The building incorporates sustainable practices, aiming for LEED Gold certification, and includes balconies on seven levels, along with a private rooftop deck of 3,000 square feet.
