Tesla’s much-anticipated autonomous RoboTaxi is currently on display at Bellevue Square. This two-passenger, battery-electric vehicle is designed to be fully autonomous, eliminating the need for a steering wheel or pedals.

According to an employee at the Tesla store in Bellevue Square, the RoboTaxi is expected to remain on display through the end of the year.

The vehicle, which was announced in October 2024, is designed to operate without human intervention, offering a completely hands-off experience for passengers. This fully autonomous car allows riders to hail it through an app, using it for tasks such as commuting, running errands, or just getting from point A to point B.

Tesla envisions a future where autonomous vehicles are integrated into everyday life, providing a seamless, on-demand alternative to traditional car ownership. The RoboTaxi is set to be an affordable option for consumers, with an expected price point of under $30,000.

In addition to their self-driving cars, the company has announced plans to develop a “Robovan.” This larger vehicle will cater to both people and goods transport, with a capacity to carry up to 20 people. The Robovan is expected to serve a wide range of applications, from mass transit to construction and food service.

Tesla is also working on an autonomous humanoid robot called “Optimus.” Intended to assist with daily tasks, such as house chores and running errands, Optimus is planned to be priced between $20,000 and $30,000.

The rollout of Tesla’s RoboTaxi fleet is slated to begin in Texas and California in 2025.

Tesla’s autonomous vehicles, including the RoboTaxi, are central to the company’s long-term plan to create a fully self-driving transportation network. By using artificial intelligence (AI) to control the vehicles, Tesla aims to lower transportation costs while making travel safer and more efficient.
