21-Unit Townhome Project in Bellevue Seeks Design Review Approval

Soma Bel-Red Townhomes

The City of Bellevue has received an application for Design Review approval for the Soma Bel-Red Townhomes project, which will replace an existing two-story business park with a residential development. The proposed project, located at 12505 NE Bellevue-Redmond Road, will consist of 21 townhome units distributed across four buildings.

The 1.15-acre site, currently occupied by a commercial office space, is surrounded by office properties and an existing townhome development to the southeast.

The new development will provide housing for medium- to high-income residents and include various site enhancements. Plans include 42 on-site parking spaces, improved pedestrian access, and recreational amenities such as a designated playground and active recreation areas in compliance with city regulations.

Additionally, the site will feature on-site stormwater management systems. The development is situated approximately 0.2 miles west of Bel-Red Mini Park, with pedestrian connections linking the new residences to the nearby green space.

Construction for the project is expected to begin in the summer of 2026, with building work commencing in late fall of the same year. The architectural design is being handled by Green Canopy Node Architecture, to create a modern and sustainable approach to the development.
