Planned Bellevue Club Towers Could Shift Second Floor to Parking Use

A request has been submitted to the City of Bellevue seeking a variance that would allow the second floor on the east side of the planned Bellevue Club Residences to be used for vehicle parking instead of living space. The request is connected to two ongoing reviews for the project: the Master Development Plan and the Design Review.

The variance is being sought due to special circumstances related to the property’s size and shape. Project documents note that the proposed parking garage is designed to meet minimum requirements, which include replacing existing Bellevue Club and Hotel parking displaced by the project and providing additional spaces for new club amenities at the same ratio.

The Bellevue Club Residences are planned as a mixed-use development at 11200 SE 6th Street. The project includes two 16-story towers with 262 residential units. A six-story podium is set to contain 87,000 square feet of amenity space, along with approximately 1,150 parking spaces for both residents and members of the adjacent Bellevue Athletic Club.

As part of the expansion, new facilities are planned for the Bellevue Club, including an indoor natatorium, multipurpose gym, and updated locker rooms. Residents of the towers will also have access to private amenities such as a residential pool, as well as membership to the club.

According to permits submitted to the city in May 2024, construction is scheduled to begin in fall 2025 with completion expected by fall 2028. The project was designed by Bellevue-based Dahlin Architecture.
