Bellevue Redevelopment Proposal Includes Art Gallery and Housing

The Legacy Gallery
11217 NE 15TH ST Redevelopment

A redevelopment project has been proposed for 11217 NE 15th Street in Bellevue. According to a design review application filed with the City of Bellevue, the existing building would be demolished to make way for a mixed-use development featuring an art gallery and one residential unit.

The site was previously home to The Legacy Gallery, which recently closed. The gallery was dedicated to celebrating Native American culture and history through art. It specialized in Northwest Coast Indian artwork, carrying both historic and contemporary pieces.

The Legacy Gallery featured museum-quality baskets and artifacts from the 19th century, as well as work by leading Native American artists. Items included limited edition prints, carved masks, bentwood cedar boxes, jewelry, drums, canoes, and full-size totem poles.

From the looks of the rendering, it appears The Legacy Gallery will be reopening in the redeveloped space once the project is complete.

The location is in an area of Bellevue that combines residential housing with neighborhood-focused businesses.
