Queen Bee Coffee Shop, a fixture in Clyde Hill for the past eight years, will close for good on July 31, 2026. The Clark family, who own and operate the cafe, announced the closure on social media, citing ongoing economic pressures facing small businesses.
In the announcement, the Clark family described the shop’s original mission as bringing “joy, connection, kindness, and a sense of community to the Eastside through great coffee and genuine hospitality.” They said the cafe grew into more than a coffee stop over the years, becoming a neighborhood gathering spot where regulars built friendships and traded stories over the counter.
The family called the decision to close a difficult one, driven by a range of economic challenges currently affecting small businesses. They expressed gratitude to customers, staff, and neighbors who supported the shop throughout its run, saying the connections formed there meant more than they could fully put into words.

This closure marks the end of the Queen Bee Coffee brand’s presence in the region. A separate Queen Bee Cafe location on the Kirkland waterfront closed permanently in previous years, meaning the Clyde Hill shop was the last one operating.
