Your Local Market Announces Permanent Closure

Your Local Market ClosureYour Local Market announced Thursday that it will not re-open its doors in downtown Bellevue.

Founder Jason Brown said in an e-mail that the market will remain closed due to a lack of financing. He thanked employees and customers for their support.

“When we created YLM we knew it would be a temporary market (5 years) then our hope was to come back and serve you as part of the new development when the towers were built,” he said, referencing the Lincoln Square expansion. “While we delivered on most of our mission I underestimated the challenges this would have on raising the needed working capital for this first location.”

Brown added that he had intended to open several Your Local Market locations in the area. The market, located at 410 Bellevue Way NE, opened in November 2011. It carried local and organic products as well as mainstream brands.
