Pot marijuana Shops to Open Soon in Downtown BellevueRetail marijuana sales within the state of Washington are expected to begin on Tuesday, July 8th. There are two marijuana shops in downtown Bellevue that are jockeying to open soon. The addresses of the locations are 10697 and 10600, both on Main Street.

A City of Bellevue ordinance states that two stores selling marijuana must be separated by 1,000 feet. This creates a problem for the two businesses that are very close to opening because they are less than 1,000 feet from each other. Neither has been granted a license yet by the state.

The retail store at 10697 Main Street already has signage promoting the store name “Green Theory.” On Sunday the inside of the shop was under construction.

So what can you expect in these stores? The stores are only allowed to sell pot-related products. Adults must be 21 years or older to be allowed into the stores. Customers are allowed to buy up to one ounce of dried marijuana for purchase. The stores are allowed to price the marijuana as they see fit. It is expected that the price will be set from $15 – $20 per gram. Although the store hours are not yet posted for either store, the state allows the stores to be open as early as 8AM, and can stay open until midnight 7 days a week.

  1. I take it there’s no more Snoboard Connection there then?

2 right across the street from each other. That is a bit much. Will be interesting to see how the Downtown residents react to this. I really dont care for it much.

  2. Correct, the Snowboard Connection is no longer in business.

  3. With the high school up the street?

  4. BN, oh please. I’m sure you have the same problem with Safeway selling alcohol just two blocks away and with the high school up the street? What a joke.

  5. Better than alcohol. Very convenient and close to the police station. I’m in favor!

  6. I can’t wait to stop by and check it out after work tomorrow!

  7. Any word on the opening of the location on 130th(ish)?

  8. You have to be 21 in order to purchase. It makes no difference whether it’s near a high school or not, just like a bar.

  9. Did anyone go to this store yesterday? I’m interested to hear what it’s like in one of those stores

  10. Conveniently located across the street from Jimmy John’s…

  11. Funny how folks worry about it being near schools. When I was school aged, I was able to get it AT school. Seriously lame argument.
