New-Target-Bellevue-Downtown-Store CanceledTarget Corporation has decided against opening a new Target store at the corner of Northeast Fourth Street and 116th Avenue Northeast, in Bellevue’s Wilburton neighborhood, according to The Bellevue Reporter.

As a result, the City of Bellevue has stopped work on a development agreement with Target Corp. City council members have said that the property is now open for another big box store, such as Costco.

  1. They seem to be winning the war with Wal-Mart in Bellevue, so this store may not be necessary.

Too bad, I was looking forward to it…

  2. Costco? Why with one in Kirkland and Issaquah?

Wouldn’t it be nice to see some mid-large scale ‘village’ project much like in the Issaquah Highlands or smaller like this in Bothell http://beardsleecrossing.com/shops/

  3. +1 Scriven.

Who needs another big box store? Let’s support smaller stores with local appeal (and ownership) and better service.

  4. This is a big disappointment, would’ve really liked to see the Target come to downtown Bellevue.
