The Zumper Seattle Metro Area Report analyzed active listings in the month of July across metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest-growing rents.
Bellevue ranked as the city with the most expensive rent in Washington with a one-bedroom unit costing $2,400. The Washington one-bedroom median rent was $1,587 in July.
Although Bellevue ranked as the city with the priciest rent, the price of a one-bedroom unit fell by 2% and a two-bedroom unit dropped by 0.3%.
The cities ranking second and third most expensive were Kirkland and Redmond. Kirkland’s rent was $2,350 and Redmond’s rent was $2,250.
The cities with the least expensive rent in Washington were Port Angeles, being acknowledged as the most affordable with a one-bedroom priced at $1,180. Following Port Angeles were Wenatchee & Oak Harbor, and Lakewood.
We last shared the findings of this report for February 2023, where Bellevue also ranked as the most expensive rent in Washington, with Kirkland and Redmond following. The least expensive rent findings also remain consistent, with Port Angeles ranking as the most affordable, as well as Oak Harbor and Lakewood.
The listings for the report are aggregated by city to calculate median asking rents.
