Bellevue Police received a late-night emergency call and were dispatched to the 989 Elements Apartment building. Located on 11th Avenue Northeast, there were reports of a shooting incident at 8:55 p.m. on December 16th.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a 35-year-old male victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The authorities located and detained the alleged shooter, identified as a 38-year-old man, within an apartment in the same building.

Bellevue Police Detectives affirmed that the incident does not appear to be a random act of violence. The details surrounding the motive remain undisclosed. Authorities are continuing to examine the incident.

The 35-year-old victim, whose injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening, received immediate medical attention and is currently in stable condition.

In an official statement, Bellevue Police conveyed that the suspected shooter was interviewed by investigators and subsequently released from custody at the Bellevue Police Department. The decision to release the individual raises questions that investigators are diligently addressing in the ongoing probe.

Residents of the 989 Elements Apartment building were assured by law enforcement that there is no apparent threat to the broader community.
