Din Tai Fang is opening its new, re-designed location at Lincoln Square North in Bellevue on April 16th. The address is 10455 Northeast 8th Street, where Maggiano’s Little Italy was previously located.
Designed by the acclaimed architecture firm Rockwell Group, the new location merges elements of the Pacific Northwest’s landscape with the cultural spirit of the Din Tai Fung brand. A calming color palette sets the tone, complemented by a suspended tree installation that celebrates the natural beauty of the region.
“As we unveil the re-designed Bellevue restaurant, we’re not only presenting a fresh look but also setting a higher standard,” says Aaron Yang, Vice President of Din Tai Fung USA. “Our new restaurant design artfully blends our heritage with innovative design, allowing us to better serve our guests. We are delighted to re-open our doors to our supportive community in the area, offering guests an elevated Din Tai Fung experience, with the same distinct flavors and culinary excellence that define all of our restaurants.”
The restaurant has two private dining rooms for an intimate dining experience, with red wall coverings, washi paper chandeliers, and mirrored ceilings. Featured artwork was sourced from The Artling, a collective dedicated to nurturing emerging artistic talent. The design also includes Din Tai Fung’s signature immersive dumpling expo kitchen, for guests to witness the dumpling-making process firsthand.
Xiao Long Bao, the dish that first made the eatery popular in the early 1970s, remains a focus on the menu. Each dumpling is handcrafted and represents a culmination of an 18-fold process to achieve a “Golden Ratio” of delicate skin with a rich, savory filling. Other favorites on the menu include Spicy Wontons, featuring the restaurant company’s signature spicy sauce, and the hand-shaken Pear Lychee Martini, featuring Grey Goose La Poire Vodka and St-Germain.
Din Tai Fang will be open Mondays through Thursdays from 11am to 9pm, Fridays from 11am to 10pm, Saturdays from 10:30am to 10pm, and Sundays from 10:30am to 9pm.
The Michelin-recognized brand first opened at Lincoln Square North on the second floor in November 2010, near the sky bridge. In February 2023, it was made public that DTF would be moving to a bigger location in the same building, more than doubling its size from 7,000 square feet to 17,000 square feet.
Looks wonderful. Hope that the new location is just a bit less noisy. We love eating there, but the last time we were there, it was quite noisy, and echoed.
