As the City of Bellevue continues to grow, the subject of transportation becomes that much more important. With a focus on sustainability and community engagement, Bellevue’s Transportation Demand Management program (Bellevue TDM) is promoting eco-friendly travel options. Bellevue residents, workers, and students have the opportunity to contribute to shaping the city’s transportation future (specifically for the next 10 years from 2024-2033) through an online open house.

Running from now until May 15th at 5 pm, the online open house invites members of the community to participate in shaping the Bellevue TDM Plan for the next decade. The goal is to encourage the use of sustainable modes of transportation, including transit, carpooling, vanpooling, walking, biking, telework, and compressed work weeks.

At the heart of the Bellevue TDM program is Choose Your Way Bellevue (CYWB), a platform that empowers individuals and organizations to make sustainable travel choices. Through the CYWB website and mobile app, users can access different resources and incentives designed to promote alternatives to single-occupancy vehicle trips.

Key elements of the program

Employer Support: Assisting businesses in developing and maintaining commute trip reduction programs.

Bellevue SchoolPool: Encouraging families and students to explore sustainable transportation options for their daily commute to and from school.

CYWB Rewards: A comprehensive system offering online trip logging, rewards, and ride-matching services.

Bellevue TDM also provides personalized trip planning assistance, offers mini-grants for sustainable commute-related projects, and hosts transportation fairs to showcase available options to employees.

Whether it’s suggesting improvements for the City of Bellevue’s Draft 2024-2033 TDM Plan, commenting on guided questions in the forum, or asking questions, every contribution is important in shaping the future of transportation in Bellevue.
