Savor Seattle is expanding its culinary offerings with the introduction of its first food tour in Bellevue. The “Bites of Bellevue” tour aims to highlight the city’s emerging food scene by featuring tastings from five local businesses. This 2 to 2.5-hour walking tour will take participants through Bellevue’s downtown area, showcasing multiple local eateries including Seastar, Bellden Cafe, Matcha Magic, Bis on Main, and Mercato Stellina.

A representative for the event explained that the selected restaurants were chosen because they embody the true meaning of Bellevue’s local food scene, being homegrown, Bellevue-based establishments rather than chains. It was crucial to ensure that the tour authentically reflects the community’s unique character.

Each restaurant not only serves exceptional food but also has a compelling backstory, from their founding to their deep engagement with the neighborhood. By highlighting these stories alongside the quality of the cuisine, the tour aims to provide guests with a richer, more meaningful experience.

The tour includes samples of local cuisine and provides narratives about Bellevue’s history and architecture. This initiative reflects Bellevue’s growing status as a culinary destination, as noted in a recent Forbes article which recognized the city’s rising profile in the Pacific Northwest’s food landscape.

Brad Jones, executive director of Visit Bellevue, reported that Bellevue’s tourism is expected to see a one-third increase in overnight visitors this year. Since 2018, efforts have been underway to boost the city’s reputation as a culinary travel destination, previously known more for business travel.

This fall, Bellevue’s Culinary Tourism Council will further promote the city’s food scene with a new food and beverage festival, featuring Chef Nakajima as the culinary ambassador. The “Bites of Bellevue” tour will run monthly from September 26, with tours available Tuesday through Sunday, from 2:00 PM to 4:15 PM. Each tour can accommodate up to 12 participants, and tickets are priced at $89.00 per person.
