CHICHA San Chen, a bubble tea shop known for its freshly brewed teas, is set to open a new location at Bellevue Square. The shop will be situated on the first level, directly outside of Macy’s department store, in the space formerly occupied by Chamei Matcha.
Currently, CHICHA San Chen operates a store at 308 105th Avenue Northeast, across from Safeway. An employee confirmed that this location will close and relocate to Bellevue Square. The existing store opened in February 2023, taking over a space previously occupied by Aqua S, a soft-serve ice cream shop.
CHICHA San Chen specializes in tea-based beverages, including bubble tea, gourmet coffee, and fresh tea brewed to order. The tea leaves used in their drinks are sourced from the company’s own plantation and are toasted for each order. Some of the shop’s popular offerings include bubble milk tea, fresh milk with brown sugar bubble, osmanthus oolong tea with mango, and lemon condensed milk. Their Dong Ding Oolong Tea has received industry recognition.
According to the company’s website, CHICHA San Chen promotes the idea of an “International beverage originated from Taiwan.” The brand emphasizes quality and freshness in its beverage preparation process.
The new Bellevue Square location replaces Chamei Matcha, a Japanese matcha dessert and drink shop that recently closed. The shop, which first opened in 2021, was known for its high-quality matcha beverages and hosted a croffle pop-up featuring various toppings.
An official opening date for the Bellevue Square CHICHA San Chen has not yet been determined, as confirmed by an employee at the current location.
