Bellevue is getting a sweet new addition. Läderach, the well-known Swiss chocolatier, is opening its first store in Washington state at Bellevue Square. The family-owned company, famous for its handcrafted chocolates, has locations across the U.S., Europe, and Asia, with headquarters in Switzerland.
The new Bellevue Square store, located on the second level next to Me + Crepe, will offer a variety of Läderach’s signature treats. Shoppers can enjoy chocolate pearls, pralines, truffles, and unique flavors like Blackberry Dark, Mixed Fruit White, Orange-Almond Dark, and Caramel Salé Milk-Dark. Crunchy options like Milk Chocolate Cornflakes and Dark Hazelnut will also be available.
This space previously housed the Theo Chocolate pop-up store for the holiday season, and before that, The Body Shop.
Founded in 1962, Läderach started as a small chocolate factory in Glarus, Switzerland. Today, it has expanded to more than 20 countries while staying committed to high-quality, fresh chocolate. According to the website, the company uses carefully sourced ingredients from around the world, including cocoa from Costa Rica and Madagascar. The chocolates are free from preservatives and full of rich flavors.
Elias Läderach, a third-generation chocolatier, brought international recognition to the brand when he won the World Chocolate Master title in 2018. He remains the only Swiss chocolatier to have earned this award.
