A new sushi restaurant, Ozora Izakaya, is set to open in Downtown Bellevue at Soma Towers, located at 288 106th Avenue Northeast, Suite 203.

Ozora Izakaya will move into the space formerly occupied by Resonance Events, which closed in August 2023 after nine years in operation. The event venue cited the long-term impact of the pandemic on consumer behavior, decreased event attendance, and risks associated with future productions as reasons for its closure.

The restaurant is currently undergoing a full remodel of the space to transform it into a sushi bar and dining establishment. Plans include a commercial-grade kitchen, main and private dining areas, and a waiting area at the entrance. A portion of the dining and private seating will be located on a newly constructed mezzanine level within the restaurant.

Ozora Izakaya will be one of several recent additions to Soma Towers’ food and beverage offerings. Chay Concept, a vegetarian and vegan restaurant inspired by Vietnamese cuisine, recently opened in the complex. The restaurant offers a plant-based menu, including dishes made with imitation meats.

In November 2024, TOASTED., a bagel and coffee shop, opened its second location at Soma Towers. Originally based in Seattle’s University District, TOASTED. features Mediterranean-inspired bagel sandwiches with handcrafted bagels made fresh daily. The shop sources ingredients such as Eastern Washington pears and olive oil from Jerusalem.

The exact opening date has not yet been announced. We’ve reached out for more information and will provide updates as they become available.
