Waterproof Footwear Brand Vessi to Open First Eastside Store at Bellevue Square

VESSI Bellevue Square

Vessi, a Canadian footwear company known for its waterproof knit shoes, is set to open a new retail location at Bellevue Square this winter. The upcoming store will be located on the second level, between Na Hoku and Abercrombie & Fitch, according to signage.

The Bellevue Square store will be Vessi’s first Eastside location and its only physical store in the United States. The company also operates three stores in Canada.

Vessi specializes in waterproof shoes designed for everyday wear. The brand carries footwear for men, women, and children, including sneakers, boots, and slip-ons, with prices ranging from $145 to $190. In addition to shoes, the store will carry apparel like jackets and tops, and accessories like bags, gloves, and socks.

Founded in 2017 in Vancouver, Canada, Vessi was created by three friends; Andy Wang, Tony Yu, and Mikaella Go, who sought to design a waterproof, lightweight, and comfortable alternative to traditional rain boots. Their solution was Dyma-tex®, a patented waterproof and breathable knit material that became the foundation of the company’s footwear line. After a successful Kickstarter launch in 2018, Vessi quickly grew into an international brand.

Vessi’s Bellevue opening adds to the continued retail growth at The Bellevue Collection, which has recently welcomed H&M, gorjana, Läderach, MANGO, Bluemercury, among other new tenants.
