A new South Indian restaurant, Shri Krishna Bhavan, has opened at the corner of Bellevue Way Northeast and Main Street. The restaurant is located at 13 Bellevue Way SE.
Shri Krishna Bhavan is open daily except Tuesdays, with hours from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
The menu features South Indian dishes including idly and vada, dosa, ithappam, special rice dishes, and desserts. Best-selling items include spring dosa, poori, and South Indian tea. The restaurant also offers house specials and combo meals.
The location has seen multiple restaurant changes in recent years. A Jack in the Box fast-food restaurant previously occupied the site before closing in 2019 after the building was sold. In March 2020, a Thai restaurant, Racha Go, opened at the location. The restaurant was owned by the same operator as Racha Thai, with a modified menu designed to fit the smaller space.
After Racha Go closed, a vegetarian Indian restaurant, Chawla Cafe, opened in 2024, offering both dine-in and takeout options. In 2025, Chawla Cafe was replaced by Hyderabad Biryani & Kebabs, which served both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, including starters, curries, and biryani.
Shri Krishna Bhavan is the fourth restaurant to occupy the space within the past five years and the third fast-casual Indian restaurant to operate at the location during that time.
The site is part of a larger redevelopment project approved by the City of Bellevue for the southeast corner of Bellevue Way SE and Main Street. The project includes plans for a seven-story mixed-use residential building with 376 apartments, ground-floor retail, and underground parking.
According to city plans, the development will include 15,026 square feet of retail space at street level, three levels of below-grade parking with 438 stalls, and a total gross floor area of approximately 322,294 square feet. The project will replace five existing commercial buildings, including a strip mall, several low-rise retail structures, and the former Jack in the Box building.

Dead man walking. This location is a black hole for fail businesses.
That’s place is cursed! So many failed business! Hope owner gets lucky this time!
The blue trim is so bad. I wish they did the whole thing white so it would be less of an eyesore. It looks like they are trying more than past businesses.
