Glassybaby opens its new Bellevue store on Thursday, Oct. 1, at Design Market, 1048 116th Ave NE. The hand-blown glass retailer is marking the grand opening with a pop-up matcha cafe from Moonbee Matcha, which will serve drinks at the store from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The new store sits between California Closets and Marci Jewelry in the Design Market complex, across the street from Overlake Hospital. All the Best Pet Care and Relax the Back are also in the center. The space is larger than Glassybaby’s former Old Bellevue storefront, which leaves more room to display its collection.
Glassybaby announced the move in July. Its store at 10230 Main Street had been open since October 2009, and that site is part of North of Main, a proposed eight-story residential and retail project at Main Street and 103rd Avenue Northeast. The plans call for removing every existing building on the site.
Other longtime Main Street businesses have also closed. La Ree Boutique shut down in September 2025 after 20 years, and home furnishings shop Veritables, next door at 10220 Main Street, plans to close Oct. 15.
Founded in Seattle in 2001, Glassybaby sells hand-blown glass votives, candleholders and drinkers, each one shaped by artisans. The company gives 10 percent of sales to organizations that support people with cancer and other charitable causes. It operates five stores: three in Washington (University Village, Madrona and Bellevue), one in Lake Oswego, Oregon, and one in Livingston, Montana.
