Koots Green Tea
Not even two years since it’s opening, Lincoln Square’s Koots Green Tea has closed it’s doors effective yesterday. The company, which has several locations in Japan, opened it’s first store in the US here in Bellevue. After expanding to Seattle as well, both stores have now closed.

Nau
Over at Bellevue Square, Nau Inc. (clothing company), is nationally shutting down their operations and have already vacated their Bellevue Square store location. Nau had stores sprinkled around the country and was dedicated to sustainability and giving back to the community and environment. They gave back 10% of their purchase prices to particular non-profit associations. They have now closed, due to the lack of funding and financial support.

Porcella Urban Market
On May 18th the Porcella Urban Market on Main Street will cease operations and close. With the many projects planned for Main Street, in the next few years there will be an abundance of retail space open in this particular area.

  1. Koots – I hope something better goes in.

Nau – That is disappointing, I liked their clothes.

Urban market – It was okay…we’ll see what is next up there.

  2. Nau is closing…it’s about time! Saw it coming back in September 2007.

I am very surprised about Porcella though. I was thinking that maybe Ziso Market would close down first.

  3. I am shocked at the Porcella closing. It’s too bad Panera could not open up there.

I only ate their once, was a bit snooty for my tastes.

  4. Wonder if one can return those rags bought at Nau for a refund because they closed shop less than a year since opening?!

  5. Not at al surprised by Porcella. There just isn’t enough volume in the area to support a high end deli, especially one with next to no parking.

Monsoon from Seattle is going in there I believe.

  6. I’m going to miss my Urban Market!

I heard (G.I.)Joe’s (in the old Larry’s market location) is the next to head out of town

  7. 3 of my favorite stores in bellevue!! 🙁
I love hanging out at koots for the matcha latte, grabbing lunch at Procella (they serve awesome baguettes and frites!) and shopping Nau for their stylish clothes….they will be missed!
