Wagyu House, an all-you-can-eat yakiniku restaurant, plans to open at the end of 2026 on Level 2 of Lincoln Square North at The Bellevue Collection in Downtown Bellevue. The restaurant will be in the former Din Tai Fung space at 700 Bellevue Way NE, Suite 280, near Lucky Strike.
Yakiniku is a style of Japanese barbecue where diners grill their own meat at the table. Wagyu House’s beef runs from American and Australian Wagyu up to Japanese A5.
Wagyu House is run by Chubby Group, the restaurant company behind Chubby Cattle, The X Pot and Niku X. The brand has locations in Atlanta, Chicago and Houston, so Bellevue will be its first restaurant in Washington.
This is not the company’s first plan for the space. In April 2024, Chubby Group applied to the City of Bellevue for an all-you-can-eat wagyu hot pot and barbecue restaurant there. That plan was based on its Wagyu House Chicago location, and the opening was targeted for December 2024.
Din Tai Fung opened in the second-floor space in November 2010, near the sky bridge to Bellevue Place. It was the Taiwanese dumpling chain’s second U.S. location. The restaurant took up about 7,000 square feet and seated 220 people.
In February 2023, Din Tai Fung filed plans to move into the ground-floor space at 10455 NE 8th Street that Maggiano’s Little Italy was leaving. The new 17,000-square-foot restaurant opened April 16, 2024. It was designed by Rockwell Group and has two private dining rooms.
