The Puget Sound Business Journal reported that, Canadian developer, Bosa Development, builder of the gargantuan Insignia project in downtown Seattle, has a high-rise commercial site secured in downtown Bellevue.

The company’s plan for the property at Bellevue Way and Northeast Second Street is a floor of retail with a 21-story residential tower above, according to city officials. Bosa has made a predevelopment application for the property, currently the location of two restaurants, Coco Curry & Ramen Bar and Teriyaki & More, as well as the Robbins Brothers jewelry store.

The announcement marks the first large condo project in downtown Bellevue since 2009, when the 539-unit Bellevue Towers opened.

According to the Puget Sound Business Journal, Colliers International Senior Vice President Mark C. Anderson, the real estate broker marketing the almost 1.2-acre property for several years, said Monday the sale closing “is right around the corner,” though he did not identify the buyer. The Bates family owns the property.
