Bellevue Downtown Park

According to the online rental platform, Zumper, in August 2021, rent in Bellevue increased by 4.7%. The report analyzed active listings across 12 metro cities, showing which cities had the most and least expensive rent, and which had the fastest growing.

The median rent for a one bedroom in Washington was $1,407 in the month of August. Bellevue ranked as the most expensive city with one bedrooms priced at $2,210. Following Bellevue were Redmond at $2,040 and Kirkland at $1,970.

The least expensive rent in Washington was Bellingham, with a one bedroom priced at $1,190. Everett ranked second with rent at $1,280 and Tacoma was third with rent at $1,460.

Renton had the largest monthly rental growth rate, up by 5%. Bellevue was the second fastest growing rent at 4.7% in one month, and Kirkland rent grow by 3.7%.

The Zumper Seattle Metro Area Report analyzed active listings that hit the market last month. Listings are aggregated by city to calculate median asking rents.
