Avocado mattress specializes in eco-friendly mattresses and bedding made from organic materials. It will be located at the corner of the Bellevue Place building.
According to City of Bellevue records, the remodeled square footage will be 3,110 square feet. The project involves construction of the retail space with new fixtures, lighting, and partitions.
The architect for the project is JCP Architects. The building is owned and managed by Kemper Development Company.
The company was founded in 2016, when the owners wanted to buy a green mattress that was natural, non-toxic, and made from organic materials, but could not find one that they could afford. The company now carries organic mattresses, pillows, and bedding at more affordable prices. They also have furniture, bed frames, throws, cribs, and dog beds.
Their Avocado Green Mattress, which is a top seller on their site, starts at $1,099. Their Organic Luxury Mattress starts at $2,499.
Avocado Mattress has stores in California, New York, New Jersey and DC. This is their first location to open in Washington.
Avocado Mattress was supposed to open by March 2022, according to their website.
