Bellevue has been named one of the top cities in the country for quality of life, coming in at No. 4 on U.S. News & World Report’s 2025–2026 list of the 25 Best Places to Live. The ranking considers important factors like education, health care access, safety, and overall well-being.
With a population of around 150,000, Bellevue stands out for its mix of vibrant city life and natural beauty. The city’s downtown is home to major employers, shops, and restaurants, while its neighborhoods offer over 100 parks, scenic trails, and easy access to the outdoors. U.S. News described Bellevue as having a “city in a park” atmosphere, with water views and green space throughout.
Bellevue’s job market remains strong, particularly in industries like tech, finance, law, and consulting. It’s also one of Washington’s most diverse cities, with a well-balanced mix of residents from a variety of backgrounds.
Education is a major strength for the city. Bellevue ranks seventh nationally for college readiness, and the Bellevue School District holds the top spot in Washington state. The city’s median home value is $1,235,465, and the median household income is $162,072.
U.S. News based its rankings on access to quality schools and health care, crime rates, air quality, and how well cities are equipped to handle natural disasters. State-level economic and infrastructure data also played a role in the final scores.
Bellevue isn’t the only Washington city to make the list. Kirkland ranked No. 8, and Sammamish came in at No. 25—both underscoring the Puget Sound region’s high quality of life.

Where is Seattle?
Where is Seattle? 10 minutes over the bridge, wallowing in a self created pool of drugs, lawlessness, homelessness and a public school system that is a disgrace. I just moved to Bellevue last year… and I’m never going back.
Wait until all the homelessness comes to the eastside via lightrail. Enjoy Bellevue while it last. Amazon is not helping the situation.
Getting way too crowded and traffic is ridiculous!!! They need to stop registering more cars. And cancel the light rail boondoggle. It will be obsolete by the time it’s finished. Nobody will ride it anyway.
LOL. Great place to live if you have enough money.
Not anymore. All the Indians have ruined it!
Yes slowly becoming Little India but not as much as Edison NJ.
My neighbors are East Indian and I love them! I’m almost 80 and they have been there for me when I needed help as I have been for them.
