Baba’s Kebab Shop is planning to open at 595 106th Avenue Northeast in Bellevue, across the street from Bellevue Connection.
The Pakistani restaurant was originally scheduled to open in late spring. However, the opening has been delayed due to project-related complications.
“Some things unfortunately don’t go as planned in a project like this,” a representative for the restaurant said.
Baba’s Kebab Shop is owned by Shan Janjua, who also operates Naan-N-Curry in Issaquah. While the new restaurant will incorporate some popular items from Naan-N-Curry, including biryani rice dishes, it will focus on kebabs featuring different cuts of chicken, lamb, and beef grilled over charcoal.
The Bellevue location will have seating for up to 80 people.
The restaurant will occupy a space that was most recently home to Khushi, an Indian restaurant. Prior to that, the location housed California Pizza Kitchen.
Baba’s Kebab Shop will join a growing lineup of restaurants near Bellevue Connection. Recently opened businesses there include BA Artisan Bakehouse, which offers French and Chinese-inspired artisan pastries, handcrafted breads, and coffee.
The development is also home to Itadaki Yakiniku, a Japanese steakhouse serving Wagyu beef grilled at inset table charcoal stoves, as well as seafood.
