Amazon Opens New 1.75-Acre Public Park in Downtown Bellevue

A new public gathering space has opened in the heart of Downtown Bellevue, offering a temporary but thoughtfully designed place for the community to connect.

Amazon recently marked the debut of The Meadow, a 1.75-acre open space located at its Bellevue 600 office development at 633 110th Ave. NE, directly across from the Bellevue Transit Center. The site sits on land designated for a future second office tower, though a timeline for that phase has not yet been announced.

In the meantime, the space has been developed as an interim outdoor destination intended to serve the public during the gap between construction phases. While much of The Meadow will eventually be redeveloped when the second tower moves forward, a permanent pedestrian pathway connecting the two buildings will remain, along with a featured art installation.

That installation, titled The Moon, the Earth and Us by artist and author Oliver Jeffers, includes two hand-painted sculptures representing the Earth and Moon. The pieces are scaled and positioned to reflect the real-life proportions and distance between the two celestial bodies and will remain in place long-term as part of the through-block connection.

The Meadow also incorporates native flowering plants designed to support local pollinators, including birds and bees, adding an ecological element to the urban setting.

The space officially opened on April 27 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The Meadow’s first seasonal activation, “Swing Into Spring,” introduces colorful installations aimed at encouraging visitors to spend time in the space. Opening day attendees participated in activities such as building floral bouquets with Flora Grand and enjoying food and beverages from Bellden Café.

Looking ahead, Amazon plans to host ongoing programming at the site. Beginning June 3, a recurring “Made in Bellevue” series is expected to bring regular events and community-focused experiences to the space.
