In the heart of Downtown Bellevue, West Main is the Eastside’s newest hidden gem. The three-tower, mixed-use development is within walking distance of the city’s biggest attractions. Whether it’s relaxing amongst the greenery and art, meeting friends for a pint, or tasting the latest in world cuisine, West Main is the place to experience downtown’s vibrant atmosphere.

West Main just opened its doors to the city’s buzziest restaurant opening, La Mar Cocina Peruana Bellevue. Created by acclaimed Peruvian chef Gastón Acurio, this restaurant celebrates traditional Peruvian cebichería in a casual yet upscale atmosphere. The focus is on fresh seafood and authentic Peruvian flavors, using traditional ingredients sourced from local fishers and farmers.

Menu highlights include Cebiche Nikkei with Ahi Tuna, Tiradito Bachiche with local white fish and artichoke sauce, Lomo Saltado with wok-stir-fried beef tenderloin, and Causa Limeña
with chicken salad. The drink offerings emphasize local and Peruvian ingredients, especially pisco, with a selection of Pisco Sours, including the Rainier Sour, crafted with local flavors.

The restaurant features an upscale interior inspired by the sea, including a multi-tiered dining room, a bar and lounge, a cebiche bar displaying fresh fish, an open kitchen, and a private dining space.

La Mar joins another memorable West Main destination, Tapster, a self-pour tasting room, that opened its second Washington location at West Main in June 2024. This 3,300-square-foot establishment is situated in Tower 3 of the Amazon-anchored three-tower campus, developed in collaboration with Vulcan Real Estate.

The venue offers a unique hands-on experience, allowing patrons to pour their own drinks from a variety of taps, including beers, wines, hard seltzers, ciders, and non-alcoholic options like kombucha and cold brew. A limited food menu is available, and guests are encouraged to “Bring Your Own Food” (BYOF) or have food delivered. With a rotating selection of taps that changes daily, drinks are served by the ounce.

The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable, featuring bright yellow accents and swinging chairs throughout the space. This inviting environment sets the stage for the upcoming additions of Shoo Loong Kan and Artly Coffee, two new establishments opening at West Main in Bellevue that will further enhance the development’s offerings.

Coming soon to West Main, Shoo Loong Kan, a popular Chinese Sichuan-style hot pot restaurant, will occupy 5,000 square feet in Tower 2 and will be its first West Coast location and future flagship. The restaurant emphasizes authenticity, using locally sourced ingredients and traditional cooking techniques. Its interior will feature a notable 3D-printed dragon wall.

Artly Coffee will join West Main’s stacked lineup of culinary offerings and will focus on elevating the craft of coffee making using advanced technology. It will employ Barista Bots, which utilize traditional methods to ensure high-quality beverages, with coffee beans roasted by U.S. barista champion Joe Yang. The robots will be trained in various drink preparations using deep learning AI and computer vision for consistent quality. Human baristas will also be able to teach the robots new skills.

With its highly anticipated dining options and walkable amenities, West Main is set to be a popular destination in Downtown Bellevue. For more information about West Main and what it has to offer, check out https://westmainbellevue.com.
