Bellevue Towers, the two-tower luxury residential community in downtown Bellevue, recently installed 312 new electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. This is the largest residential EV charging project on the West Coast, making Bellevue Towers a leader in sustainability and innovation.

The Bellevue Towers EV Installation Committee and the Board of Directors launched this project to meet growing demand. More than half of residents were interested in installing their own chargers, showing a strong need for better EV infrastructure.

“EV charging is now a must-have,” said Ed Anderson, President of the Board at Bellevue Towers. “We started planning this three years ago to make sure our residents would have easy access to charging stations.”

The main infrastructure was completed in August 2024. It supplies 800 amps of power across seven garage levels, ensuring a fixed installation cost for all residents, no matter where their parking stall is.

With over 300 charging stations, many serving two parking stalls, this upgrade benefits current residents and makes Bellevue Towers more attractive to future buyers.

“Many new communities in the area have very few EV stalls for residents,” said David Sullivan, General Manager at Bellevue Towers. “Our Board of Directors took the initiative years ago, and now we’re setting the standard, even as a 16-year-old property.”

The system is designed for future growth, allowing for more charging stations as demand increases. Bellevue Towers is also working with current EV owners to see if even more chargers are needed.

“As EV charging becomes more common, Bellevue Towers is proud to stay ahead of the curve,” Anderson added.
