Bellevue Offering Up to $150,000 in Grants to Energize Public Spaces

Downtown Bellevue, Meydenbauer Bay Park

The City of Bellevue is now accepting applications for its 2025 Community Programming Fund, a grant program designed to support local efforts to energize public spaces and create meaningful experiences for residents. This initiative encourages the development of community-focused activities that promote creativity, inclusivity, and connection in shared outdoor spaces.

A total of $150,000 in funding is available. Up to $100,000 will be dedicated to events and programs along the Grand Connection—a major pedestrian corridor stretching from Meydenbauer Bay Park, through downtown, and across I-405 to Eastrail. An additional $50,000 will be available for projects in other public spaces citywide.

Each eligible project may receive up to $15,000. Applications will be accepted until July 28, 2025, or until funding is fully allocated. Priority will be given to proposals that encourage community engagement in Bellevue’s plazas, parks, and other open areas. Suggested types of events include musical performances, local vendor markets, pop-up art, and cultural showcases.

Bellevue Mayor Lynne Robinson highlighted the city’s vision for the program: “The Community Program Fund will support the city’s goal of fostering vibrant, inclusive and connected public spaces where people can come together.”

Application review will begin on April 14 and continue in phases through the summer. The City encourages individuals, nonprofits, small businesses, and community organizations to submit ideas that help bring public spaces to life and reflect the diversity and vibrancy of Bellevue.
