MUTO, a Seattle-based lifestyle shop specializing in Japanese home goods, has opened its second location at Bellevue Square, marking the brand’s first store on the Eastside.
The shop is located on the second floor of Bellevue Square, next to ROYCE’ Chocolate. Muto’s first location is on 1st Avenue in Seattle.
The store carries a curated selection of Japanese stationery, ceramics, kitchenware, and home goods, with most products sourced directly from Japanese makers and studios. Items include handcrafted ceramics such as tableware, cups, bowls, and plates, as well as notebooks, pens, desk items, kitchen utensils, serving pieces, vases, textiles, and accessories, including keychains, scrunchies, headbands, socks, and hand towels.
The store focuses on small-batch, artisanal work rooted in Japanese design and craftsmanship. As the brand describes it, the goal is to introduce handcrafted goods from across Japan that enrich everyday life.
To celebrate the opening, MUTO is offering 10% off all purchases through Sunday, June 21st.
The Bellevue location is also hosting a Tanabata celebration, Japan’s Star Festival. Shoppers are invited to write personal wishes and goals, decorate a traditional tag using in-store stationery, and hang it on a bamboo tree or take it home as a keepsake.
