You may think of Munchbar in Bellevue as a bar to go out to, rather than a place to munch on food, but Munchbar is all about its food. Opening its Downtown location, only 2nd to Las Vegas, Munchbar’s whole concept was to be a hip restaurant, fit for all ages, serving unpredictable cuisine.
Downtown Bellevue patrons quickly gravitated towards Muchbar’s comic-book graphics, black lights, and chalkboard walls, as a place to see and been seen on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Food aside, Munchbar Bellevue became a hotspot for nightlife and was deemed an ‘ultra lounge’ before anyone knew it as a real restaurant.
The DJ’s and dancing are fun, and the drinks are pretty stellar as well, but don’t miss out on what Muchbar does best – food. From ‘munchies’ to ‘entreeeees,’ their menu has some of the most unique flavor combinations on the Eastside. Chicken and french toast is just one example of something unusual, that’s both sweet and savory, and will leave you wanting more. The dungeness crab stack on the ‘soups & salads’ portion of the menu is pretty much to die for; green goddess dressing and grapefruit wedges create a burst of delightful flavor combinations.
The menu also has staple items too, like burgers, chicken, salmon, etc., but done in a Munchbar way. The burgers come with hand cut, regular or sweet potato fries, and the entrees come with sides like a fried egg or bok choy. Speaking of fried eggs, the best hangover pizza is, well, the best hangover pizza – bacon, onion, cheese, and a fried egg on a puff-pastry pizza crust is something everyone deserves to try at least once.
Kids have plenty to munch on too; from sliders or a hot dog, to good ol’ mac ‘n cheese, the Munchbar menu has kids covered. So the next time you’re craving something delicious or want to satisfy the foodie in you, head to Munchbar. Even better yet, go for dinner and stay for the party.
