The Bellevue Collection

Avalon Bellevue is the four-story apartment building on the north side of NE 10th Street at 110th Ave NE, on the east side of the downtown core near the Bellevue Library. AvalonBay completed it in 2001 and still owns and leases its 201 homes — studios, one- and two-bedrooms, with select homes renovated with quartz counters, stainless appliances and hard-surface floors. Instead of a tower amenity floor it has courtyards, a fitness center, a lounge and a business center, with shops and restaurants at street level. Of AvalonBay’s three downtown buildings it is the oldest and smallest: Avalon Meydenbauer, over the Safeway at Bellevue Way and NE 4th, came in 2008, and the 23-story Avalon Towers Bellevue at Bellevue Way and NE 10th in 2010.

The building predates DBN, so its archive story is told through its storefronts. In April 2012 the Bellevue Downtown Association’s reader-voted Haute Picks named Herban Therapies Boutique Day Spa, at 11000 NE 10th Street, downtown’s best place for a massage. In June 2019 DBN covered the opening of Dumpling and Noodle in a two-level ground-floor space facing NE 10th, where a building representative told us the space had sat vacant for years, and confirmed the building dates to 2001.

It suits a 2 Line commuter who would rather live on a quiet low-rise block than in a tower, a short walk from The Bravern. See the rest of the field in our guide to every downtown Bellevue apartment building.

Getting Around & Living Here

NE 10th and 110th is the library side of downtown; the notes below are for prospective renters and visitors.

Getting There & Parking

  • Drive: Residents park on two levels of controlled-access underground garage for an added monthly fee, per avaloncommunities.com; the entrance is off 110th Ave NE, across from the Bellevue Library. Guests use the limited, signed guest spaces in the same garage, and tour visitors park in designated spaces with direct entry to the Leasing Center — no permits or passes required for either.
  • Light rail: 2 Line to Bellevue Downtown Station, then straight north on 110th Ave NE past The Bravern to NE 10th Street — see our light rail guide
  • On foot: The Bellevue Library is by the garage entrance on 110th; Chutneys is across NE 10th; The Bravern is two blocks south; Paris Baguette is two blocks west on 108th; Bellevue Square is about a 15-minute walk west.

What It’s Like

The blocks around NE 10th and 110th are among the calmer ones in the core — library, apartment and office traffic rather than shopping crowds — and Ashwood Park is nearby. At four stories this is a mid-block, courtyard building, so the draw is the location on the 110th corridor between the library and The Bravern, a direct line to Bellevue Downtown Station, rather than views. The site pitches easy access to I-405 and SR 520 for drivers.

What’s Nearby

The closest DBN-profiled stops: Chutneys across NE 10th on 110th, Paris Baguette two blocks west on 108th, or HEYTEA south on 110th at The Bravern.

Good to Know

Pets: cats and dogs are welcome, up to two per home, subject to the restricted-breed and restricted-animal lists on avaloncommunities.com. Packages go to Amazon Hub lockers that residents can open any time, and the site lists bike storage and courtesy mail pickup. Only select homes have the renovated kitchens and baths, so ask which finish a given home has; furnished homes are offered through Furnished+.
