On Saturday, Bellevue successfully kicked off the first Taste of Main, a charity event to benefit Children’s Response Center at Harborview. Over 500 “Passports” to the event were sold, and vendors and attendees alike enjoyed the food, activities, music, and sunshine!

Participating restaurants included Monsoon East, who served Papaya Salad, Nem-Nuong (Vietnamese sausage), Lemongrass Chicken, and Pork Ribs; Ginza, who served a sushi sampler; 520 Bar & Grill, who served burgers and salad; Bis on Main, who served Beef Skewers and Fish Tacos; The Spot Off Main, who served up pizza; Red Ribbon, who offered a wine tasting to guests; Amore Chocolates and Fran’s Chocolates offered their truffles. Retailers ponied up gift certificates for Storm tickets, hotel stays, spa days, jewelry, and many other packages for the silent auction.

According to Gilbert’s on Main, who served fresh lemonade, Main Street merchants were extremely happy with the turnout, and they hope to make the Taste an annual event. Did you go? What did you think?

  1. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to attend. However, our Spot Off Main Neighborhood Bar & Billiards manager was very happy with the turnout. And especially happy with the organization that Ahinsa and her team did. They did a great job!

  2. I wanted to check it out — it looks like it was a great success! I’m so happy events like these are popping up. I hope they do more like these in the near future. So many great restaurants and shops in that area — it’s such a treat to walk around down there!

  3. Title 9 had a “try lacrosse” goal set up for little kids, staffed by Bellevue East Lacrosse players. It was fun. (BELAX has teams for girls from 3rd Grade through High School. If you know a girl who wants to play, for info email info@bglacrosse.com )
