And just like that summer is here. But this is not a normal summer. Being that we’re in the midst of a pandemic, taking a vacation that requires an airplane isn’t for everybody. So, we’ve established a list of vacation locations that are easily accessible by car (all under 4 hours) from Bellevue.

With all that the world has thrown at us in 2020, it’s important that everybody take time for themselves to relax and recharge. These handpicked locations are sure to help you to do just that. Whether your thing is enjoying the mountains, beach, wine, or the heat, we have you covered.

Cannon Beach

Cannon Beach, located in northwest Oregon, is a coastal town known for its beautiful beach and iconic Haystack Rock. Here you’ll enjoy taking long walks on the beach, watching the puffins nesting on Haystack Rock, and bonfires upon nightfall.

The town has many boutique stores, coffee shops and restaurants. When selecting a place to stay, you’ll have the option of staying in a hotel or renting a nearby house.

Hallmark Resort & Spa is the closest resort to Haystack Rock and has played host to families for generations. Just north of Haystack Rock is Ocean Lodge, a luxury hotel ideal for romantic oceanfront lodging.

Suncadia

Suncadia has 6,000 acres of forested mountain landscape, making way for hiking and biking trails and three golf courses. For those looking to enjoy the great outdoors, this is an ideal option. 

There are a few restaurants and a winery within the boundaries of Suncadia, and within a couple minute drive to Cle Elum, you’ll find plentiful grocery stores and restaurants.

When selecting lodging, Suncadia features a resort with hotel rooms overlooking the forest and Cle Elum River. Additionally, you can rent townhomes and houses when visiting. And if you enjoy your visit so much that you don’t want to leave…you don’t have to. There are available vacation homes for sale as well.

Lake Chelan

If you’re looking for guaranteed heat, Chelan is your best bet. With highs ranging from 77-86 degrees in the summer months, you’re certain to get your fix of sun. Chelan features various water activities on Lake Chelan including boat rentals, swimming, canoe and kayaking, to name a few.

Lake Chelan has been recognized as one of the nations top wine destinations with over 30 wineries. The food options in Lake Chelan are plentiful, offering everything from multi-course meals, authentic Mexican dishes, artisan pizzas, fast food and everything in between.

There are ample lodging options in Lake Chelan, including resorts, hotels, Bed and Breakfasts, luxury homes and cabins. Campbell’s Resort has been a favorite since 1901. If you’re looking for more space, The Lookout at Lake Chelan is a vacation community that offers both ownership and rentals that feature resort-like amenities and private waterfront views.

Seabrook

Seabrook is an oceanfront beach town community that overlooks the Pacific Ocean. You can enjoy miles of shoreline, as well as walking paths and biking trails. Whether you bring your own bike or rent one at Buck’s Bikes, you can enjoy riding on the beach or to the neighboring Pacific Beach.

The Seabrook community has various amenities including a town market, several restaurants, an independent bookstore, various boutique shops and don’t forget the ice cream and candy shop. Have a dog? The community is highly canine friendly with beach and walking paths, and it even has a store dedicated to dogs, The Salty Dog.

Seabrook offers both ownership and home rentals, making it an ideal location for families, or larger gatherings for friends.

Woodinville

Looking for minimal drive time, and not ready to leave the Eastside? Woodinville is a great hyper-local option for a wine weekend getaway.

The main attraction in Woodinville is its food and wine, but don’t forget about its breweries and distilleries as well. There are over 100 wineries in Woodinville, so chances are, you’ll be able to find something to satisfy your palate. 

The classic winery visits in Woodinville include Columbia Winery and Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery. Both include ample outdoor areas to enjoy wine tasting. Novelty Hill-Januik Winery offers a modern environment, inclusive of a bocce ball court. Is whiskey more of your thing? Check out Woodinville Whiskey’s tasting room.

If you want to stay within the heart of Woodinville’s wine country, you won’t go wrong with WIllows Lodge. The resort is within walking distance to many wineries, eateries, and distilleries.
