Bellden Cafe has partnered with Bobby Moore Restaurants of Bar Moore, and Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty office, to help them open a coffee shop by day. Located on Main Street in Old Bellevue, Cafe Moore’s hours are 8 am to 2pm, Mondays through Fridays, serving up coffee, pastries, and goodies. The address is 10237 Main Street.
At the forefront, Claire Sumadiwirya, Bellden owner, has created a Job Readiness program, with the desire to do more of this important work in the future. According to her Instagram, Bellden Cafe believes in empowering marginalized talent, fostering community collaboration, and offering job readiness training that acts as a catalyst for positive change.
Sumadiwirya explains, “The doors we’ve opened through this partnership are not just entrances to a delightful cafe experience, but gateways to opportunities that enhance skills, build capacity, and create a profound ripple effect of empowerment.”
Following her statement, “This joint venture seeks to empower our refugees by offering them a platform to showcase their skills and talents outside the scope of Bellden training.”
The grand opening was held on Friday, December 8, 2023, and had Bellevue community members in attendance like Mayor Lynne Robinson, Council member Jeremy Barksdale, and John Stokes. There was a ribbon cutting ceremony, as well as light bites.
Bar Moore opened its doors in September 2022. The restaurant and bar shares partial space with Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty office.
The European style restaurant has an intimate lounge that features European culture, and cuisine. Specializing in fresh seafood, bubbles, and cocktails, the bar offers light bites (small plates) like oysters, crudo, tartare, and charcuterie.
It was made known in August 2022 that Bobby Moore would be taking over the space that was originally B-Bar, a cafe and cocktail lounge, owned by Joe Viladi. At this time, he also took ownership of Viladi’s nextdoor restaurant, Bis on Main.
