Sound Transit Bellevue Sea-Tac Bus

The City of Bellevue is inviting the community to play an active role in shaping the future of transportation within the city. As part of its ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and reducing traffic congestion, the city’s Transportation Demand Management (TDM) program is reaching out for public input to update its strategic plan for the next decade.

The TDM program has been at the forefront of encouraging the adoption of sustainable transportation options like transit, carpooling, vanpooling, walking, biking, teleworking, and compressed work weeks. Through the Choose Your Way Bellevue initiative, the program has engaged a wide range of stakeholders, including employers, property managers, and the general public, in rethinking their mobility choices.

Key elements of the program include the Choose Your Way Bellevue Rewards, which offers incentives for logging trips using sustainable modes, as well as marketing and promotional activities aimed at raising awareness about the benefits of alternative transportation options. The program also provides support to businesses, offering free consultations, mini-grants, rebates for employee transit passes, and assistance in organizing transportation fairs.

As Bellevue continues to grow, the city recognizes the importance of updating its TDM Plan to reflect the changing needs and preferences of its community. The 2024-2033 Draft TDM Plan is currently open for review, and city officials are encouraging everyone to contribute their ideas and feedback.

For businesses, the city wants to understand how employees currently commute to work and what kind of support would be most beneficial in making those commutes more sustainable.

Individual residents and workers are invited to share their experiences and suggestions on how the city can further facilitate the use of alternative modes of transportation.

For those interested in participating in the online open house, it will be open through March 31st at 5 pm for public input responses. The overall open house will stay open for questions and general updates as the TDM Plan is finalized.
