Michael Jackson’s This Is It premiered Tuesday night in IMAX at Lincoln Square Cinemas in Downtown Bellevue. From the music and lyrics to the technology and dance choreography, This Is It is the closest we’ll ever get to see Michael Jackson live in concert again. The sensory experience of watching it on the IMAX screen left the crowd jaw-dropped at times. The state-of-the-art sound and massive visual scale brought the movie to life.
Before the show, the Downtown Bellevue Network and Lincoln Square Cinemas co-hosted “Look Like Mike,” a Michael Jackson look-alike contest. Moviegoers wore sunglasses, red jackets, and surgical masks to the show. The grand prize winners were decked out in Michael Jackson head to toe (see pictures) and received official This Is It movie theater posters, t-shirts, pairs of movie tickets, and popcorn.
Lincoln Square Cinemas will be showing Michael Jackson’s This Is It for 2 weeks. It plays once a day on the IMAX screen at 9:20pm and at several other show times on standard screens (check their site for showtimes).
