Bellevue Rent Reaches New High in July 2022

Rental platform, Zumper, recently published their latest Seattle Metro Report. The report covered 14 cities in the area to highlight the most and least expensive cities for rent and cities with the fastest growing rents. The Washington one-bedroom median rent was $1,537.

Bellevue ranked as the most expensive city to rent in the metro area for the month of July. The price of a one-bedroom unit grew 1.2% to a median of $2,600, while a two-bedroom unit increased by 1% to $3,090.

Redmond was the second most expensive city for rent at $2,300 for a one-bedroom unit, and Kirkland, as well as Lynnwood, came in third with rents both at $2,030.

The least expensive rents by ranking were Oak Harbor with a one-bedroom priced at $1,280, Bellingham with rent at $1,300, and Lakewood at $1,350.

In the last year, the city of Bellevue has seen an increase of 23.2% for a one-bedroom unit. Lynwood grew the fastest within the last year, with an increase of 26.9%.

The Zumper Seattle Metro Area Report analyzed active listings that hit the market last month. Listings are aggregated by city to calculate median asking rents.
