Following the recent closure of public exhibitions, the Bellevue Arts Museum (BAM) has announced that it will continue to host private events. This includes holiday parties, weddings, and corporate gatherings. The museum’s architecture and interior spaces make it a suitable venue for a variety of events, and its central location provides easy access and parking for guests.

In addition to private events, BAM is launching its first-ever Holiday Arts Fair, scheduled to run from November 30 to December 24. The fair will be open Thursday through Sunday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This event aims to showcase and sell unique holiday gifts created by local artists.

“Hosting a Holiday Arts Fair is an amazing way to honor our legacy and to engage with the festivities of Snowflake Lane; a time when Bellevue Way is flooded with families and merriment and is likely the busiest thoroughfare in the entire Northwest,” says Kate Casprowiak Scher, Executive Director of BAM. “I am thrilled we will be taking part in the joy of the season in a way that aligns with our mission and connects original arts and crafts to holiday shoppers who seek meaningful and unique gifts. In addition, the festive atmosphere will provide a place for the community to gather and celebrate the season.”

BAM is also offering exclusive group reservations for viewing Snowflake Lane from the museum’s northeast balcony, which overlooks a prime viewing area for the holiday floats. On evenings without bookings, single tickets for balcony access will be available during the Holiday Arts Fair.

“Our unique venue is the perfect place to host holiday events, from company parties to family gatherings,” says Scher. “We are excited to bring the community back into the building in new ways, while supporting local artists and continuing to serve as a cultural cornerstone in Bellevue. Furthermore, all these efforts support our reinvention, so please participate and support the museum and our community of artists during this time.”

BAM announced its closure to the public September 4, 2024. The museum was a significant contributor to the cultural landscape, known for its exhibitions and programming, including the Bellevue Arts Fair. While BAM ceased its programs and exhibitions, it plans to manage the Arts Fair in 2025.

The museum faced significant financial difficulties due to revenue losses stemming from decreased attendance, fundraising challenges, and reduced retail sales since the pandemic. As a not-for-profit organization, BAM relied heavily on grants, donations, and sponsorships, but struggled to sustain operations in light of rising costs and diminished visitor numbers.
