42-Unit Townhomes Proposed on 112th Ave NE in Bellevue

A new housing development called Bellewood Townhomes is being proposed for 2233 and 2229 112th Avenue NE in Bellevue. If approved, the project would replace existing office buildings with 42 townhomes on a 3.2-acre site, just steps from Hidden Valley Sports Park.

The land is currently zoned for office use, so the project will need several city approvals before construction can begin. These include a Conditional Use Permit, Design Review, a Critical Areas Land Use Permit, and approval from the Bellevue City Council.

The developers are also asking to cancel a previous zoning agreement to make way for the new homes. Because the property includes steep slopes, a buffer modification has also been requested to allow building near sensitive land.

The project is designed by Freheit Architecture, with KPFF Consulting Engineers also working on the team.

Bellewood Townhomes would bring more housing options to the growing 112th Avenue NE corridor, which has already seen new townhome communities pop up in recent years. One example is Ashwood Lane, located nearby. That community includes eight brick townhomes with modern interiors and multiple floor plans ranging from about 2,422 to 2,465 square feet. The first home there went up for sale in February 2024.

The city will review the application and allow time for public feedback as part of the approval process, with a public meeting scheduled for May 7, 2025, at 6 PM, to be held virtually.
