R + M Dessert Bar has officially opened its flagship location in downtown Bellevue. The new shop is located at 1025 108th Avenue Northeast, marking the company’s second location after its original storefront in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood.
Founded in November 2017 by chefs Rod Gambassi and Marc Adams, R + M Dessert Bar has built a strong local following. The concept was inspired by dessert bars seen in other cities and countries, which the chefs believed were missing in the Pacific Northwest.
The Bellevue location includes seating for 20 guests in the dine-in Dessert area, as well as a private lounge space that can accommodate groups of six or more.
The R + M Dessert Bar Takeaway Boutique is open from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Offerings include wine and a rotating menu of desserts to go, such as a spiced caramel apple tart, salted caramel cremeux, chocolate pistachio tart with crushed feuilletine, and a lemon mango tart.
The dine-in Dessert Salon will open on Thursday, May 1 at 5 p.m. and operate daily from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. The Chefs’ Menu will feature plated desserts designed to be consumed in-house. Initial offerings include Blueberry Frozen Souffle, Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Icing and Salted Caramel Drip, Chocolate Hazelnut Torte, and Berry Tiramisu.
Wine by the glass or bottle, mocktails, and non-alcoholic sparkling beverages will also be available.
Reservations for the Dessert Salon will open within 24 hours. This includes booking for the first Bellevue Afternoon Tea, scheduled for Mother’s Day weekend on May 9, 10, and 11. The Chefs’ Menu is expected to expand in the coming week.
Done Donuts, a family-owned craft donut shop, is newly open next door in what was previously Cafe Cesura at the retail space in Ashton Apartments. Cafe Cesura closed in October 2024 after continuing to operate despite a temporary closure order issued due to unpaid fees.
